Designing a seamless experience across devices

product context

Launchpad is Worldpay’s merchant onboarding platform, supporting both partners (banks and integrated payment providers) and merchants across the end-to-end enrollment journey. The product includes the application experience, as well as a dashboard and lead management system used by partners to create custom quotes/leads, manage the onboarding process, and track approvals.

the challenge

Launchpad’s partner clients (i.e. ISV sales reps, like Salon Ultimate), meet with new merchants, like spa & salon owners, that are looking for an all-in-one POS solution to make running their business easier (i.e. accounting, inventory management, payment processing, appointment scheduling, loyalty programs, etc.). Payments is just one of the many services ISVs offer so sales reps aren’t experts and need things to work smoothly. They need to easily access Launchpad and complete important tasks while out in the field just as well as they can on their office computer.

Because the product had been built on legacy, pieced-together systems, the dashboard and existing table layouts didn't accommodate narrower viewports and dense information became difficult to scan or interact with. The experience needed to remain consistent without sacrificing usability.

My role

As the sole designer, my role was to modernize and optimize the experience end-to-end. This included aligning the visual language with new FIS brand standards while also integrating evolving regulatory requirements, new product features, and targeted UX improvements. This work spanned the full ecosystem, including the merchant application flow, partner-managed multi-step lead and quote creation, dashboards, and list management tools.
